About The Position

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for delivering a successful customer experience by carefully assessing and repairing vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles, contributing to the repair facility’s speed, quality, and customer-service goals. The role works with team members to achieve facility KPIs and represents The Boyd Group’s brand.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a technical school program or a three-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
Ability to work with other repairers in an auto body shop.
Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Responsibilities

Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
Plan necessary repair work and prepare customer cost estimates.
Repair vehicle body damage using appropriate tools and methods, including removing dents and applying filler resins when needed.
Realign vehicle chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts as needed.
Weld, attach, or fit parts into place; prepare and repaint vehicles using factory-specified paint or an agreed-upon equivalent.
Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure work was executed correctly.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
