About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating repair costs, inspecting repaired vehicles, and planning repair work. This role requires a high level of professionalism in customer service and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will perform a variety of repair tasks, including replacing body and frame components, repairing dents and imperfections, and working with various materials and equipment.
Requirements
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the same occupation.
- Experience working with body components, doors and frames, frame straightening, front-end components, interior components, metal cutting, and under-body components.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Perform tasks involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrate accuracy, dependability, reliability, judgment.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Team player.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have own tools and steel-toed safety boots.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Auto Body Repairer Trade Certification.
Responsibilities
- Estimate repair cost based on damage examination report
- Inspect repaired vehicles
- Plan repair work to be performed
- Professionalism in customer service
- Clean and maintain work space
- Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and under-body components
- File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
- Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
- Repair or replace interior components
- Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroofs
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
- Straighten bent frames using frame and under-body pulling and anchoring equipment
