About The Position

Carvana is hiring an Auto Body Repair Technician (Autobody Prepper) to perform light bodywork on vehicles at one of its high-tech Inspection Centers. The work includes prepping, sanding, and buffing vehicles; removing and installing bumpers; minor plastic welding; and small-area bodywork, including Bondo repair. Entry-level employees may receive training programs intended to help their skills and pay progress. The advertised pay range is $19–$23 per hour. The role is part of Carvana’s vehicle reconditioning process, in which vehicles are inspected, repaired, and prepared before being photographed and listed on the company website. Work takes place in a fast-paced, changing production environment and may involve exposure to hot or cold weather. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 1 year of professional automotive bodywork experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may require a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check.
