Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous body shop or auto body experience preferred; 1 year automotive/auction experience a plus.
  • Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must pass a respirator Fit Mask test in compliance with OSHA respiratory protection requirements (29 CFR 1910.134).
  • Ability to use tools such as electric sanders, drills, buffers and air blowers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player who can collaborate well with multiple departments, customers and vendors.
  • High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of safety focus.
  • Willingness to work in a high-production, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to perform Medium to Heavy Physical Work, including constant reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motion. Potential for running, jumping, yelling or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations.
  • Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform semi-skilled tasks before and after the body and paint tech processes.
  • Prepare vehicles for the paint process by taping, masking, cleaning, sanding, priming, and removing parts efficiently and accurately.
  • Install necessary replacement parts as needed.
  • Assist in unmasking vehicles after paint refinishing.
  • Maintain a constant and smooth flow of prepped vehicles for the paint process.
  • Assist with general shop duties such as cleaning, driving, organizing vehicle parking and staging.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and customers, setting a good personal example.
  • Resolve internal and external customer inquiries in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, advising management of any complaints or incidents.
  • Maintain productivity levels as set by management.
  • Maintain equipment and tools properly and advise manager of any needed maintenance or repair.
  • Follow and maintain all safety standards, including required respiratory protection (Fit Mask) protocols.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
