About The Position

Car Keys Express is seeking an Auto Body Paint & Repair Technician for their Car Care Express division in Nashville, TN. This role involves repairing and painting automotive cosmetic damage using both solvent and water-based systems, as well as painting wheel surfaces. The technician will be responsible for developing and maintaining a weekly sales route, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate sales logs. This position offers the opportunity to build client relationships, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to the company's growth in mobile vehicle reconditioning services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of automotive paint experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sales and customer service experience.
  • Determination to succeed.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • General computer skills.
  • Work in all elements of weather.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb and perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (tools, dyes, paints, wheels, etc.).
  • All applicants must be able to speak, read, and communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Wheel repair experience being a bonus.
  • Some experience with route sales preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing and painting automotive cosmetic damage in both solvent and water-based base-coat/clear-coat systems.
  • Painting surfaces of wheels through spray-painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques.
  • Developing and maintaining a weekly sales route in their territory to maximize profits.
  • Managing inventory, audits, and accurate logs of sales stops.
  • Maintaining business relationships to increase our clients’ profits.
  • Maintaining excellent customer relationships to ensure longevity of accounts/business.
  • Driving the company van to dealerships and fleet operations in the metro area.
  • Walking and writing up car lots for customer approval.
  • Inspecting vehicle body surface and wheels to be painted for repair, prepping and/or buffing defects.
  • Mixing specific colors using standard formulas or color charts.
  • Performing paint repairs and refinishing to current company standards using spray-painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques.
  • Sanding, masking, blending and polishing finish.
  • Applying or retouching paint as necessary.
  • Working with accounts/or sales managers on a regular basis to increase quality of service to account.
  • Servicing retail customers when necessary.
  • Reporting to assigned routes and establishing accounts daily to service all repairs in a timely manner.
