About The Position

This role focuses on preparing vehicles for painting by performing essential tasks such as rust removal, surface cleaning, and dent filling. The position also involves masking protected areas, maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring a clean work environment, and adhering to safety protocols. Cooperation with other team members is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

• Ability to remove rust from metal.
• Ability to remove grease and dirt from work surfaces.
• Skill in masking and protecting areas not to be painted.
• Proficiency in filling cavities and dents with putty.
• Capability to maintain tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of keeping equipment clean and in good repair.
• Ability to maintain a clean work area.
• Understanding of and adherence to safety and health personal protective equipment requirements, including respirator use.
• Willingness to cooperate and assist other personnel.

Responsibilities

• Removes rust from metal.
• Removes grease and dirt from work surface.
• Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
• Keeps work area clean.
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
• Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
