About The Position

The Body Shop Detailer/Paint Prepper assists with preparing and detailing assigned vehicles. Vehicles must be prepared and ready for paint. The role contributes to the organization’s goals for speed, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The position also involves maintaining a safe, organized workplace, using required safety equipment, following repair procedures, and properly disposing of hazardous waste. The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive and may be amended to meet business and organizational needs.

Requirements

• Previous automotive detailing experience is required.
• Demonstrated commitment to continued learning.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.
• Ability to periodically lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high levels of dust, and noise in the repair center.
• Ability to wear protective equipment, including a respirator.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for paint.
• Detail all finished vehicles.
• Buff out dirt nibs and other imperfections.
• Consistently use required safety equipment and follow proper repair procedures.
• Adhere to hazardous-waste disposal requirements.
• Keep the personal work area organized and return tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas.
