About The Position

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, operates in over 50 locations throughout the US. Our auto auctions provide a wide array of vehicle services including repair, reconditioning, and auction remarketing. Reporting to the Body Shop or designated Manager, perform body repair work and paint in a production environment. Maintain high standards for efficiency and observe all safety requirements. Perform all additional duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to use tools such as heat guns, propane torches, plastic scrapers, electric sanders, drills, buffers and air blowers
  • High attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a high performing, production environment
  • 1 year of experience in paint and body
  • Automotive/auction experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets requirements
  • May be required to provide sufficient tools to perform the job
  • Basic computer skills

  • High School or GED preferred
  • Automotive/auction experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Remove, repair, or replace damaged parts
  • Properly fill and sand in preparation for paint process
  • Use welding, soldering, and cutting torches as required
  • Perform visual and feel quality inspection prior to the spraying of any product to ensure the vehicle is properly prepped for paint.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly cleaned and dusted prior to painting, mix paint, paint vehicles.
  • May mask vehicles in preparation for paint process
  • Communicate with other technicians to meet production goals and customer standards
  • Clean equipment to ensure proper maintenance
  • Assist with general shop cleanliness and organization
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all. Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment.
  • Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise management of all serious complaints or incidents.
  • Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Inform the Body Shop Supervisor or Manager of all equipment breakdowns and maintenance immediately.
  • Promote and follow safety policies.
  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
