About The Position

We are looking for one part-time, permanent position at The Pas. St.Amant supports over 5,000 people in Manitoba with developmental disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury. We are a not-for-profit organization that offers a wide range of supports for adults, children and their families. Our over 2,000 staff follow a person-centered approach and adapt to the needs of each person and each family. We are seeking fun, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our team in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to learn, discover and explore! As a tutor, you will be an integral part of a team, working one-on-one with children and families, teaching meaningful skills in all life areas based on individualized goals. Requirements

  • Minimum education of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to work within a team
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Prior Contact Check
  • Successful candidates must complete a series of Occupational Health Checks. This includes the requirement to confirm immunization or immunity of specific communicable diseases

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in both official languages (French/English)
  • Post-secondary course work in behaviour modification/applied behaviour analysis (ABA)
  • Previous experience as a tutor in a supervised applied behaviour analysis (ABA) program
  • Previous experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities or ASD
  • Knowledge of the philosophies and practices in education, care and support services for individuals with disabilities
