About The Position

JumpStart Autism Collective is hiring full-time and part-time Behavior Technicians to work at their Rio Rancho, NM center. This opportunity includes assistance in earning Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through provided coursework, comprehensive training, and coverage of exam fees. The role focuses on working with children with autism or other exceptional abilities, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and Precision Teaching practices to help children ages 1 to 12 develop valuable life skills. The company has been recognized as a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence since 2016 and a Top Albuquerque Workplace since 2019.

Requirements

  • 18+ years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a reliable, insured, and registered vehicle
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform quick body movements
  • A desire to work in the fields of psychology, early childhood education, or behavioral health
  • Experience with kids of all abilities
  • Ability to work independently, receive constructive feedback, and adapt to changing environments
  • Professionalism, dependability, and punctuality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A drive to never stop learning

Responsibilities

  • Implement ABA therapy and Precision Teaching practices to help clients gain new skills and reduce behaviors
  • Accurately record all session data and make detailed notes about the client's progress
  • Communicate with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders
  • Maintain learning materials and keep the therapy environment clean and organized
  • Engage in crisis intervention and prevention as needed
  • Follow industry policies, laws, and code of ethics
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor and appearance
  • Lead 1:1 ABA therapy sessions to teach children with autism (ages 1 to 12) life skills
  • Work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), following personalized therapy paths to help each client achieve their goals
