Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Compassionate, dependable, and committed to supporting students with autism.
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain patient, flexible, and professional in a dynamic educational environment.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, lifting, and supporting students throughout the school day.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
Experience in special education, behavioral health, childcare, or human services.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Child Development, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
Experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Experience using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.

Responsibilities

Support teachers in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with autism and extensive support needs.
Encourage communication, social interaction, independence, and positive behavior throughout the school day.
Assist with academic, behavioral, recreational, vocational, and daily living activities.
Help create a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment.
Collect behavioral and academic data as directed.
Collaborate with Teachers, Behavior Specialists, BCBAs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and families to support student success.
Support students during classroom instruction, community-based instruction, school activities, and transitions.
Assist students with personal care and mobility needs when appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with school policies, IEPs, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development.
Support a collaborative, positive school culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
