About The Position

Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Part-Time Autism Aide with the GIANT Steps Preschool Program in Orem, Utah! This rewarding opportunity offers a competitive wage of $17.50–$22.17/hour and the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder. GIANT Steps is a specialized day-treatment program that partners with local school districts to provide evidence-based, individualized services in a structured classroom environment. As an Autism Aide, you'll work alongside therapists, educators, and families to help children build communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills that support lifelong success. Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM Compensation: $17.50–$22.17 DOE

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
One year of post-high school experience in social work or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of this requirement.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with young children
Ability to follow established guidelines and adapt to changing needs

Nice To Haves

Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred
Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase

Responsibilities

Support preschool-aged children with autism during classroom and therapeutic activities.
Assist with implementing individualized treatment and behavior support plans under the direction of the clinical team.
Use evidence-based strategies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, PECS, social stories, and naturalistic teaching techniques.
Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily living skills through structured activities and play.
Monitor client progress and document observations to support treatment goals.
Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and families to provide consistent, high-quality care.
Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where children can thrive.
