About The Position

Butterfly Effects is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join our corporate office in Deerfield Beach, FL! The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating all functions related to the credentialing and re-credentialing of providers and maintains provider credentialing files.

The Authorizations Specialist is responsible for verifying and obtaining authorizations based upon the plan of care for all clients as required by insurance providers. The Authorizations Specialist will partner with the Regional Directors, Consultants, and a multitude of departments to maintain information and to ensure proper services are approved. The Authorizations Coordinator must be detail and task oriented, have excellent communication and relationship building skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare and EMR systems, and will be efficient, focused and have a systematic approach.

Requirements

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and data systems
• Team player who thrives in an environment with high level of communication and collaboration
• Must have benefit education/verification knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy with confidential information
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently, productively and well under pressure
• Service oriented
• Strong phone etiquette and skill set
• High School graduate required.
• One-year experience preferred in healthcare with a demonstrated working knowledge of health care industry and commercial payor authorization process.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree preferred.
• EMR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all authorization requests to ensure they are submitted in a timely manner
• Enter, monitor and audit information to confirm accuracy for all parties affected
• Communicate with Regional Directors, Consultants, and other team members on a daily basis to guarantee all data is correct for services and billing purposes
• Responsible for submitting and following up with insurance companies for receipt of the authorization request, and to obtain updated information or additional authorizations
• Meet deadlines provided
• Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
• Other work as requested
