About The Position

The Authorization Specialist is an essential component of the certified agency team. The Authorization Specialist is responsible for requesting authorization for home care services for patients with HMO/Managed Care payment sources and acts as a liaison between community-based COC (Coordinators of Care) and the HMO/Managed Care Companies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Homecare & managed care experience
  • Knowledge about health insurance verification
  • Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally
  • Computer Literacy
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Requesting authorization for home care services for patients with HMO/Managed Care payment sources
  • Acting as a liaison between community-based COC (Coordinators of Care) and the HMO/Managed Care Companies
