About The Position

Join a fast-paced orthopedic team where your attention to detail helps patients move one step closer to the care they need. As our Authorization Specialist, you’ll play a key role in securing prior authorizations for imaging, durable medical equipment, injections, and other ancillary services. This full-time position is ideal for someone with at least one year of medical-office administration experience who enjoys problem-solving, coordinating with insurance carriers, and supporting a smooth patient experience from start to finish.

Requirements

• Medical office, medical billing, and/or patient services experience
• Experience working with healthcare insurances
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Must believe in a patient-centered approach
• Able to thrive working independently
• Excellent, clear and concise interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Perform with an efficient and fast pace
• Must be able to multitask
• Must be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic
• Must have excellent time management skills
• Must provide reliable, long-term employment in position
• At least one year of medical-office administration experience
• Strong background in medical terminology, insurance verification, and office administration

Responsibilities

• Management of ancillary authorizations, for all clinic providers
• Obtaining and following up of authorizations
• Answering patient phone calls pertaining your job responsibilities
• Answering back-office questions pertaining to your job responsibilities
• Faxing orders to other facilities with notes re. authorizations
• Management of insurance eligibility worklist
