About The Position

We are currently seeking an ABA Authorization Specialist for a hybrid or remote role with SpringHealth Behavioral. The ideal candidate will: Be familiar with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service delivery Have experience with insurance authorizations, referrals, intake coordination, or related administrative functions Be highly organized and detail-oriented Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills Be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Work independently while collaborating with remote and clinic-based team members This position plays a critical role in supporting our clients, families, and clinical teams while helping ensure efficient access to services.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Health Care billing and/or authorization practices
  • General knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home care
  • Sound knowledge of health care operations and third-party reimbursement
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications
  • Solid organizational skills, thoroughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing effectively
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Nice To Haves

  • Be familiar with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service delivery

  • Ideal candidate would have ABA background in billing and authorizations

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones and provide excellent customer service to our professional staff and insurance representatives
  • Run and utilize computer reports regularly
  • Observe confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
  • Provide accurate, complete updates to Agency management on status of authorizations for all patients requiring treatment authorization
  • Ensures authorization is obtained and tracked for all patients whose insurance requires pre-authorization
  • Is responsible for seeing that objectives are implemented, follows, and promotes agency policies and procedures
  • Ensure all authorization requests are documented clearly
  • Participate in the orientation and education of other employees as relates to Authorization department
  • Observes confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
  • Notifies Supervisor of problems in a timely manner and works to help provide solutions
  • Completes ongoing education requirements and demonstrates ongoing competency in required areas
  • Other duties as assigned
