About The Position

Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Authorization Specialist to join their Centralized Scheduling Department at their Crestline location. This role involves contacting payers to request service authorization and collecting necessary financial, demographic, and clinical information from patients and patient charts. Requirements

• Previous customer service experience
• At least two years of experience in healthcare pre-authorizations.
• Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework
• Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy
• Experience with EPIC information systems

Responsibilities

• Contacts payers to request service authorization.
• Collects financial and/or demographic information from patients.
• Collects clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers.
