About The Position

Electric Boat Corporation, the premiere shipbuilder of nuclear-powered submarines for the United States Navy, is seeking a Technical Program Representative to support the United Kingdom’s design of a new submarine for the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy. This role offers a unique opportunity to help define and establish a new submarine design program within our International Programs Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the establishment and oversight of a new engineering and design organization that will remotely support the SSN-AUKUS (SSNA) design program at BAE Systems (UK). Electric Boat and Newport News Shipbuilding will provide US industry support (USIS) for AUKUS. The USIS effort involves Electric Boat personnel supporting BAE’s integrated delivery teams, utilizing a dedicated facility for AUKUS, and extending BAE’s unclassified network to US Shipbuilders. The role will involve reviewing products, developing and reviewing calculations, completing engineering analyses to drive SSNA design maturity, and participating in daily and weekly standup meetings between Electric Boat and BAE. The ideal candidate is well-organized, an excellent communicator, possesses strategic thinking with tactical problem-solving abilities, and is a self-starter bringing innovative ideas to the AUKUS Program. This position is a significant opportunity to learn about all functional areas of the company while contributing to a key enterprise need and defining processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related Technical Degree (B.S. in Applied Mathematics, IT, Physics)

Responsibilities

  • Be an ambassador that frequently interfaces with US and foreign customers, building strong, credible relationships that are essential to our success.
  • Coordinate high-priority technical information packages for the UK and chair critical meetings between the US Navy, Royal Navy, and international stakeholders.
  • Direct the completion of program milestones and brief senior leadership and international partners on program status, staffing, and budgets.
  • Lead the coordination of domestic and international travel for EB Subject Matter Experts and manage high-level visits from foreign nationals to our facilities and vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to import/export regulations (ITAR) and program-specific policies, safeguarding the integrity of our international partnerships.
  • Work closely with Engineering, EB Legal, Security, Contracts, and Finance teams to drive resolution of any facilities, IT, security and/or compliance issues to enable efficient USIS execution.
