About The Position

SafeGuard Services (SGS), a subsidiary of Peraton, conducts data analysis, investigations, and medical reviews to detect, prevent, deter, and reduce fraud, waste, and abuse, and to make referrals for recovery. The Auditor applies intermediate subject matter knowledge to resolve common business issues and works on moderately complex problems. The role contributes analysis as an informed team member, provides limited project direction input, and exercises independent judgment within established practices and procedures. The Auditor follows guidelines, interprets policies, evaluates unique circumstances, and makes recommendations. Telework is available from Florida.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with a BS/BA, or 9 years of experience with a high school diploma.
• Typically 2 or more years of related experience in finance, accounting, or audit.
• Intermediate knowledge of internal audit policies and operating principles.
• Intermediate understanding of Medicaid or healthcare auditing and revenue cycles.
• Intermediate risk assessment and scoping skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Intermediate financial and business acumen.
• Basic project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit cost reports and claims submissions, and perform ad-hoc focused audits.
• Identify inherent and residual risks and conduct risk-based audits.
• Develop an understanding of the function being audited and apply business knowledge, analytical skills, and experience to identify findings and improvements.
• Provide ongoing progress reports and updates on audit findings in collaboration with team members.
• Participate in projects and audits.
• Provide research and data analysis for moderately complex projects.
• Stay abreast of new audit developments.
