About The Position

Plans and conducts comprehensive financial, compliance, and performance audits of city divisions, departments, programs, activities, or businesses having contracts with the city. This work involves planning audit procedures; evaluating internal controls; collecting, evaluating, and interpreting relevant data and records; performing complex data analyses; conducting interviews; observing operations; assessing alternatives for improvement; and writing clear and convincing reports. The responsibilities are carried out both through collaborating in teams and performing individual assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a job-related field, from an accredited educational institution.
  • Four years of full-time professional experience as an auditor conducting internal, financial, and/or performance audits.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date.
  • The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver’s licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the city, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

  • A master's degree in job-related field may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
