About The Position

ATCO Structures is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Auditor, Quality Assurance to support the ongoing effectiveness of our Quality Control & Assurance program. This role is responsible for planning and executing systematic audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across projects and operations. In this role you will play a key role in maintaining quality excellence, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a construction and manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, permanent, in office role based in Calgary AB.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of relevant trade experience with a Trade School Certification.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving abstract.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Electrician designation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Building Code interpretations, ensuring all activities align with current provincial and federal standards.
  • Establish and enforce quality benchmarks across electrical, mechanical, and architectural disciplines to maintain consistency.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to verify that workmanship meets technical specifications and quality requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential quality risks or technical gaps before they lead to non-conformity or project delays.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and trade leads to ensure quality standards are integrated into the daily production workflow.
  • Provide real-time coaching to teams and tradespeople, ensuring they understand "the why" behind quality standards to prevent errors before they happen.
  • Identify gaps in team knowledge and lead informal training sessions or "toolbox talks" to improve technical proficiency across disciplines.
  • Work side-by-side with supervisors to resolve non-conformities, treating every error as a learning opportunity for the crew.
  • Act as an approachable subject matter expert, fostering an environment where team members feel comfortable asking for guidance on complex code requirements.
  • Establish a supportive feedback system where teams can suggest practical improvements to quality procedures based on their field experience.
  • Conduct internal checks/audits and project reviews.
  • Identify non-conformities and issue Corrective Action Reports (NCRs) with recommended solutions.
  • Ensure all quality plans (PQP, ITPs) and inspection records are accurately implemented, monitored, and filed.
