About The Position

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and optimize food products, processes, and formulations to meet organizational and regulatory objectives. The Auditor II will contribute to research, product development, and quality improvement initiatives, identifying and evaluating challenges and opportunities in food safety, quality, and production. The position requires collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to draw scientifically informed conclusions and applying scientific methodologies to guide problem-solving and process optimization. The role also involves designing and monitoring experiments, developing innovative approaches to enhance product quality and efficiency, and staying current with food science principles and regulations. Maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety in laboratory work and production assessments is crucial, as is taking ownership of assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Food Engineering, or a related technical field of study (foreign equivalent accepted).
  • Five (5) years of experience in the position of Auditor II Food Production, or as a Food Safety Officer, or in a related food/packaging role.
  • Experience performing regulatory inspections according to consumer product initiative recognized schemes including BRCGS FOOD, IFS FOOD AND LOGISTICS, FSSC 22000.
  • Experience performing onsite audits.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and optimize food products, processes, and formulations to achieve organizational and regulatory objectives.
  • Contribute as an integral team member in research, product development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate food safety, quality, and production challenges, as well as opportunities for product or process innovation.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources, including laboratory tests, production records, and sensory evaluations, to draw scientifically informed conclusions.
  • Apply established scientific methodologies and industry best practices to guide problem-solving, decision-making, and process optimization.
  • Design, implement, and monitor experiments and studies to evaluate ingredients, formulations, or processing techniques and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
  • Develop innovative approaches to improve product quality, shelf life, nutritional value, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Explore and apply novel strategies for addressing technical challenges and enhancing product performance or consumer experience.
  • Maintain expertise in food science principles, industry regulations, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements relevant to product development and quality assurance.
  • Establish and uphold high standards of accuracy, reliability, and safety in laboratory work, pilot-scale trials, and production assessments.
  • Take ownership of assignments and research projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
