About The Position

The Audit Senior Associate will be responsible for completing all aspects of Employee Benefit Plan audit engagements for clients. This includes providing status updates to engagement managers, adhering to quality control standards, and demonstrating an understanding of the client's business through analysis and planning. The role involves cultivating strong client relationships, identifying and communicating audit issues, and providing exceptional service. The associate will also be responsible for managing engagement budgets, achieving charge hour goals, reviewing the work of junior associates, and supervising and training staff. Additionally, the role may involve client billing assistance, developing expertise in ERISA regulations and audit standards, and participating in practice development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
  • CPA candidates preferred.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field.
  • Experience supervising employee benefit plan audits.
  • CPA candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all aspects of Employee Benefit Plan audit engagements for clients including status updates to engagement managers and adhere to all quality control standards as required.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the client’s business including analysis and planning of client engagements.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with clients.
  • Identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters and improvement opportunities with senior associates, managers and partners to resolve client issues discovered during the audit process.
  • Pledge to provide exceptional service to every client by providing individual attention, responsiveness and commitment to understanding their goals and needs.
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested, explain variances when needed.
  • Achieve charge hour goals.
  • Review associates’ auditing work: provide constructive review points.
  • Supervise associates on engagements.
  • Train and mentor associate staff.
  • May be involved in the client billing process by assisting Managers or Directors.
  • Develop specialty knowledge of applicable ERISA regulations and audit standards, attend industry training as assigned.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements.
  • Participate in practice development activities such as: membership in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements.
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned.
