About The Position

The Audit Senior in the Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) team at Anchin is responsible for leading and executing financial audits and assurance engagements for AEC clients. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, identifying areas for improvement, and delivering valuable insights to support their financial success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 + years of audit experience, preferably with exposure to AEC clients.
  • Profound knowledge of tax regulations, financial services, and relevant tax software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the audit team and clients to plan and design audit procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
  • Assess and identify areas of financial risk and recommend appropriate controls to mitigate those risks for AEC clients.
  • Lead audit fieldwork, including the testing of financial statements, internal controls, and transactional data.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with AEC clients, communicating audit findings and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports, highlighting any material weaknesses or deficiencies in financial reporting, and suggest actionable solutions.
  • Ensure that AEC clients comply with industry-specific regulations and standards, such as revenue recognition, percentage of completion accounting, and other construction-related accounting principles.
  • Stay updated on industry-specific accounting and auditing standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to the AEC industry.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and training to junior staff members, and review their work to maintain high-quality audit procedures.
  • Monitor the budget and resources for audit engagements to ensure they are completed on time and within budget constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit processes and contribute to the development of best practices for AEC audits.
