About The Position

This role is responsible for auditing and reconciling paper and electronic records from received tissue. The specialist will investigate and resolve discrepancies, scan recovery paperwork from incoming donors, and track documentation errors to identify trends. Additionally, the role involves auditing other processes and records as assigned, participating in process improvements, and assisting with the creation and maintenance of policies, work instructions, job aids, and nonconformance documentation. The position requires effective communication, strong organizational and critical thinking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic computer literacy. A high level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Organize records and utilize critical thinking skills to perform review and assessment of those records.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and juggle completing tasks & demands
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Utilize solid problem-solving, decision-making skills and strong attention to detail
  • Maintain focus with a high attention to detail
  • Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from an accredited college preferred.
  • Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with FDA and AATB regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Audits and reconciles paper and electronic records daily.
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies.
  • Scans all recovery paperwork into appropriate database.
  • Tracks documentation errors and identifies trends.
  • Audits and reconciles other processes and records as assigned.
  • Participates and assists with process improvements and creating and maintaining policies, work instructions, job aids, and nonconformance documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
