About The Position

The Montcure team recognizes the unique challenges faced by organizations and governments in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. The FIAR Staff Analyst supports Department of Defense Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) initiatives by assisting with audit readiness, internal control documentation, financial data analysis, and audit support activities. The staff analyst works under the direction of senior team members to execute assigned tasks, maintain documentation, and support financial management improvements that strengthen auditability and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in federal financial management, audit support, internal controls, or consulting
  • Experience supporting Government or DoW clients preferred.
  • Basic understanding of financial management and audit concepts.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal financial management programs.
  • Familiarity with federal financial statement audits or audit readiness initiatives.
  • Exposure to internal control frameworks such as OMB Circular A-123, GAO Green Book, or COSO.

Responsibilities

  • Support FIAR initiatives by assisting with documentation, testing, and analysis activities.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation including narratives, flowcharts, and control matrices.
  • Assist with internal control walkthroughs and testing activities.
  • Analyze financial and transactional data to identify discrepancies or potential audit issues.
  • Support preparation of audit evidence and documentation requested by auditors.
  • Maintain organized documentation repositories and tracking tools.
  • Coordinate with team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
