About The Position
A well-established and growing independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its team in Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified audit professional looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of a highly respected regional firm. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of owner-managed businesses, charities, and SMEs, leading audit assignments, building strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members.
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in an Audit Manager, Assistant Audit Manager, or Senior Audit role within practice
- Strong technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting standards
- Experience managing client relationships and leading audit engagements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive and commercial approach to client service
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of audit and accounts clients across a range of sectors
- Planning, overseeing, and reviewing audit assignments from start to completion
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and providing trusted advice.
- Managing audit teams and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently and to a high standard
- Reviewing statutory accounts and audit files in accordance with relevant regulations
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior and part-qualified staff
- Supporting Partners and senior leadership with complex assignments and business initiatives
