Audit Manager, Health Care Industry
About The Position
Wipfli is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounting Manager to serve its growing healthcare practice, with a primary focus on clients located in California and heavily focused on senior living clients. These clients include skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), home health, hospice, and independent living organizations, ranging from mission-driven nonprofit providers to complex, multi-entity for-profit operators. This role is ideal for a manager who is passionate about the senior living industry, values strong client relationships, and is energized by serving clients new to the organization. While the position is not required to work from the Wipfli office day to day, the successful candidate will be based in California and comfortable engaging with clients and prospects across the state.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA certification required
- Construction industry experience in private and/or public required
- At least five years of job related experience in public accounting
- Prior supervisory experience

- CCIFP Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage audit, review, compilation engagements, and multiple teams. Provide performance feedback to all members of those teams when engagements end
- Partner with Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners in risk assessment, audit procedures, and reporting.
- Oversee daily operations of the audit engagement. From staffing, planning, budgeting, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and the conclusion
- Research and communicate guidance on complex accounting matters and transactions
- Assist clients with GAAP compliance and the adoption of FASB Accounting Standard Updates. Address client concerns and resolve problems as they arise while communicating proactively and promptly
- Serve as an instructor in the firm, department training programs, and meetings
- Take part in and provide leadership in community, networking, and business development activities
