About The Position

This role is responsible for leading audit engagements in asset management, serving clients in private equity, infrastructure, private credit, venture capital, and real estate asset classes. The Audit Director will act as a key client contact and trusted business advisor, contributing to industry growth in the New England region and leading national/regional initiatives. The position involves effective practice management, meeting billing targets, implementing AI and other technologies, and improving realization. A strong focus on quality control, adherence to US GAAP, and regulatory guidelines is essential. Responsibilities include designing, planning, and reviewing attest procedures for investment valuations, LPA waterfalls, PCAP analyses, and disclosures. The role requires serving as a Subject Matter Expert in asset management, particularly with ASC 946 investment companies. Contributions to technical accounting research, articles, and insights on new accounting standards and best practices for fund structures are expected. Building staff and fostering a growth mindset are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
  • 6 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
  • Significant experience with ASC 946 investment companies.
