Atlantic Federal Credit Union is seeking an Audit Coordinator to serve as the central hub for all internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and Supervisory Committee activities. This is a highly visible role that works closely with leaders across the credit union, external auditors, and the Supervisory Committee—perfect for someone who enjoys coordinating complex work and influencing outcomes through strong communication and follow-through. As the Audit Coordinator, you’ll manage the full audit lifecycle, ensuring audits are planned, executed, and closed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of related experience in audit, compliance, risk, or a similar environment
  • Associate degree
  • Relevant certification or license
  • Specialized training courses
  • Comparable job-specific training or apprenticeship experience
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across departments and with external partners
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
  • Comfortable learning new systems and tools

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all audits, reviews, and regulatory examinations
  • Coordinate audit schedules, timelines, and deliverables to keep everything on track
  • Gather, organize, and submit documentation in response to auditor and examiner requests
  • Schedule and facilitate audit meetings (entry, exit, and interim)
  • Compile and distribute audit findings and reports to leadership and relevant teams
  • Own the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) process—track findings, monitor remediation, and report progress
  • Maintain the annual audit schedule and ensure timely completion of all engagements
  • Act as the primary liaison to the Supervisory Committee
  • Prepare and distribute quarterly reports, materials, and updates
  • Coordinate and host quarterly Supervisory Committee meetings
  • Provide regular updates on audit results, action items, and audit plan progress
  • Stay current on audit standards, best practices, and credit union policies
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
