ELO is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Audit Associate to join our growing team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services to our clients. You will collaborate with team members to plan and execute audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or progress toward obtaining a CPA is highly desirable.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in public accounting or a related field, with a focus on audit services.
  • Highly proficient in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with accounting software is required.
  • Technical knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and audit methodologies.
  • Adaptability and a commitment to flexibility in a constantly changing professional environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide precise and impactful feedback to clients and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in public accounting is a plus.
  • Experience with Engagement Manager (formally known as AdvancedFlow) is preferred.
  • Knowledge in governmental audits is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and performing audit procedures in accordance with applicable auditing standards.
  • Perform audit testing, including walkthroughs, internal control evaluations, and substantive procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed audit workpapers that meet firm and professional standards.
  • Analyze financial data to identify risks, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.
  • Assist in drafting audit reports, management letters, and financial statements.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve audit-related issues.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a high-performing audit environment.
  • Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
