About The Position

Prosperity Partners ("Prosperity") is a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, transaction advisory and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking a detail-oriented Audit Associate to support our rapidly growing audit practice. As an Audit Associate, you would be an integral part of the team, with the unique opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of the audit from start to finish, not just one facet of the engagement. You would be responsible for taking ownership of each step of the engagement including audit planning, fraud and risk assessments, and the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, as well as tax issues such as tax accruals, tax compliance, and tax planning.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
Prior experience in public accounting or private industry;
Experience working with the financial services industry, more specifically broker-dealers, investment partnerships/hedge funds and private equity funds;
Solid understanding of GAAP and complex accounting entries;
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Office and Copilot);
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
A proactive team player who thrives in a client-service environment.

Nice To Haves

CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification preferred;
Experience with Quality of Earnings reporting is a plus;
Experience with tax compliance is a plus (individuals, trusts, S/C corporations, partnerships and foundations);
Experience with audit software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments in accordance with firm policies and relevant regulations;
Conduct fieldwork, including testing of internal controls, substantive testing, and documentation of audit findings;
Prepare working papers and draft financial statements in compliance with GAAP or PCAOB standards;
Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement in clients’ processes and controls;
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries;
Research accounting and auditing standards, as well as industry trends;
Support the preparation of audit reports and present findings to senior team members and clients;
Contribute to the firm’s commitment to high-quality client service and continuous improvement.
