Position Profile Weaver’s Public Sector practice is looking to add new team members at the Associate level.  A Weaver Audit Associate performs audit procedures as assigned on engagements and helps to complete an audit engagement.  They work closely with Senior Associates and Managers to identify and resolve issues encountered in performance of financial statement audits.  They also develop effective and clear work paper techniques and assist with financial statement preparation, as well as develop a plan of their own professional development with their group leader.  A Weaver Associate enjoys flexibility, meaningful and diverse client work within a supportive and innovative work environment.  The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, accepts responsibility, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA candidate
  • 1-2+ years of public accounting or industry experience, or a combination of both
  • Experience working with Governmental (counties, cities, school districts, not for profit, higher education, etc.) clients
  • Basic familiarity with GAAP and GAAS
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA
