About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Compliance Auditing & Monitoring, the Audit & Monitoring Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of compliance audits and internal monitoring activities. This role helps ensure organizational compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, payer requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
The Coordinator reviews, analyzes, and distributes audit and monitoring results to identify areas of risk, drive compliance improvements, and support documentation integrity initiatives. This position partners with internal stakeholders and external auditors to facilitate audit readiness, corrective action planning, and ongoing compliance program effectiveness.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in utilization review, compliance, auditing, or monitoring or internal audit within healthcare.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health information management, or related healthcare field or equivalent experience.
• Strong program and project management skills, including ability to lead large complex projects within inflexible time frames.
• Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data and information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
• Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and healthcare information systems.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in behavioral health preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and compliance standards preferred.
• Professional certifications in coding, auditing, compliance, and/or clinical documentation integrity are preferred, including CPC, CPMA, CHC, CCS, CDIP, or CCDS

Responsibilities

• Acts as a liaison for auditors including tactical execution of audit schedules, deliverables, invoicing, and audit findings.
• Assists with oversight of internal monitoring programs, including timely completion of review, facility results, and corrective action plan completion.
• Assists with the development of audit schedules, documentation, and tracking systems to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of findings.
• Assist with preparing audit findings reports outlining findings, root causes, recommendations, and corrective action plans.
• Support internal investigations and corrective action initiatives related to identified compliance concerns.
• Supports gathering, preparing, and presenting finding data to various levels of the organization.
• Assist with implementation and expansion of compliance auditing and monitoring programs.
• Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to person(s) receiving services and their family members, guests and other members of the healthcare team.
• Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time.
• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
