The Audiology Technician assists with patients using appropriate techniques and procedures to perform minor hearing aid repairs, cleanings, and programming. They also send hearing aids out for difficult or extensive repairs and order new hearing aids for patients as directed by the audiologist. This role assists the audiologist in direct patient care as needed, communicates with the healthcare team, and documents patient information. The technician performs occupational health hearing tests and counseling, and provides office support, which may include scheduling appointments, organizing exam rooms, cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, checking equipment, managing referrals, and processing work queues. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and understand growth and development principles.
