About The Position

Nemours is seeking an Audiology Assistant in Jacksonville, FL This position is vital to Audiology in that it is direct support to the Cochlear Implant program. This AA sees patients in conjunction with the CI audiologists and this can be as frequent as 3-4 days in clinic /week; as well as does all of the administrative work associated with the CI program. This includes all of the scheduling of CI pts, coordinating appts with ENT and speech depts, submitting paperwork for authorizations, ordering CI equipment (includes tracking/documenting when equipment is received/dispensed, maintaining pt equipment that is kept onsite until returned/dispensed). Will troubleshoot equipment for walk-in pts or while at their speech appts; Monitors the CI call pool, addressing the daily needs of CI pts; verifying that all paperwork is up to date and completed for surgeries; liaison between CI pts and their audiologists and the hospital. Covers for the other AA position (who supports the rest of the audiology staff) when out of the office. Essential Functions Schedules/cancels/reschedules and confirms patient appointments with courtesy, providing assistance and information as needed. Schedule CI patients for consults, initial activations, follow up, etc. Work closely with CI coordinator to schedule new patients and 6 month follow up visits, maintain highly effective system for ordering and tracking of essential CI supplies, submit authorization to Cochlear America for CI/BAHA devices, maintain CI database. Coordinate meetings with internal and external representatives; prepare agenda and handouts, schedule room and equipment. Provide cross coverage with clinical audiology assistant.
