About The Position

InterMed is seeking an Audiologist for its busy, expanding ENT and Audiology practice in Portland, Maine. The practice serves patients from newborns through seniors and provides high-quality hearing healthcare, including diagnosis and hearing aid dispensing. The role involves evaluating patients, counseling them and their families, and selecting, fitting, and supporting appropriate hearing aids and assistive listening devices. The ideal candidate is licensed in Maine, patient-focused, and willing to learn.

Requirements

• Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or a Master’s degree in Audiology.
• Active, unencumbered Maine Audiology license.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
• Well-developed organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Nice To Haves

• Three to four years of hearing aid dispensing experience preferred.
• One to two years of pediatric audiology experience preferred.
• Familiarity with or experience using most major hearing aid manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing for patients of all ages, including Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing.
• Counsel patients and families regarding test results.
• Select appropriate amplification and assistive listening devices to meet individual patient needs.
• Fit and program hearing aids, and provide ongoing adjustments and support for patient questions and concerns.
• Maintain patient records at all stages.
• Participate in professional conferences and trainings to update and share knowledge of new hearing treatment methods or technologies.

Benefits

• $3,000 sign-on bonus eligibility for qualified external hires and eligible internal promotional candidates, subject to approval and repayment terms.
