Audiologist - Texas Medical Center (ENT)
About The Position
UTHealth Houston ENT is hiring an Audiologist to join their practice in the Texas Medical Center. In this position, the Audiologist will practice a broad range of audiologic services while working with a diverse and complex patient population. This position offers the opportunity for one to expand their clinical expertise, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide meaningful care in a leading academic medical environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a high-volume outpatient/hospital setting with procedural knowledge (VNG, vHIT, CI, Sedated ABR, Hearing Aids, etc.). Requirements
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) required or
- Audiologist License by Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR) or must obtained within two months of initial employment required
- Master’s degree in audiology and completion of a Clinical Fellowship/Externship Year (CFY), clinical audiology experience both in adults and pediatric patients.
Nice To Haves
- Audiology Doctorate (Au.D.) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a high-volume outpatient/hospital setting with procedural knowledge (VNG, vHIT, CI, Sedated ABR, Hearing Aids, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Coordinates various phases of clinical audiologic and related research activities.
- Performs audiologic evaluation of pediatric and adult patients suspected of hearing deficits. Identifies type and degree of hearing loss.
- Follows up on patients and counsels family to verify use of appropriate self care techniques or the recommended referral service.
- Assists in the development and administering of quality assurance programs.
- Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards.
- Maintains patient records.
- Provides auditory evaluations and education.
- Assists in the instruction and demonstration of testing procedures and services to clinic personnel, medical students, and residents.
- May be required to dispense hearing aids to patients.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation.
- Maintains supplies and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
