About The Position

Audiologist - Houston Texas Essential Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to the Following: Diagnostic Testing: Appropriately choose and administer diagnostic testing for comprehensive audiologic evaluations including immittance testing and otoacoustic emissions to obtain accurate test results for pediatrics through geriatrics. Conducts tests of balance and neural system dysfunctions (ENG/VNG, ABR, EcochG). Accurately interpret and report test results. Appropriately document, bill and complete chart requirements for each appointment. Consult with and make recommendations on hearing disorders to physicians. Coordinate care with physicians and other providers. Complete chart notes and documentation for each patient seen and send written report to referring physician and, when needed, primary care physician. Counsel patients regarding test results. Attend to both scheduled and “add on” patients. Hearing Aid Related Services: Perform evaluations, counseling, fitting, and follow up services for amplification devices and assistive listening devices. Make recommendations regarding hearing care options. Review all products available to improve hearing impairment. Sell appropriate hearing care products and warranties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the patient. Provide hearing aid dispensing, including selection, fitting, ear-mold acoustics, ongoing management with follow-up, and education. Perform in office hearing aid repairs/modifications; send aids out to manufacturers for any needed repairs/modifications. Assist patients with hearing aid exchanges or returns as needed. Perform hearing aid checks and cleaning. Appropriately document, bill, and complete chart requirements for each hearing aid related appointment. Attend to scheduled patients and accommodate “add on” or “walk in’ patients when feasible. Additional Required Responsibilities Include: Assist in marketing activities in the community. Maintain positive relationships with MDs and co-workers in the designated site and other sites. Cover for other Audiologists within the office or at other sites, when needed. Act professionally and courteously to all patients and their families. Attends variety of meetings and seminars as required. maintain equipment and schedule service calls when needed. Involved in clinical quality outcomes, including efficiency and productivity. Provide excellent customer service and maintain good public relations. Perform all other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Practice good safety and infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized working environment. Exercise confidentiality as it relates to business information. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to enter and exit Audiology booths, with or without a patient. Must be able to use both hands for certain testing. Personal Attributes: Excellent and strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening, sales, and problem-solving skills. Strong keyboard/computer/Audiology diagnostic and hearing aid software and equipment experience. Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties within strict guidelines. Requires the ability to work efficiently to deal with high volume of patients and numerous interruptions. The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members. Must deal with patients in a caring and respectful manner. Must be detailed oriented. Requirements

  • Au.D. or Master’s degree in Audiology
  • Current state licensure for Audiology and dispensing
