Audiologist
About The Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking a full-time clinical audiologist. This role involves providing services for the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation for patients with hearing and balance disorders. Audiologists at Mayo Clinic work in various specialties within a leading tertiary medical center. This specific position is split, with approximately 20 hours per week dedicated to high-quality cochlear implant services, including candidacy evaluations, initial activations, and ongoing programming. The remaining 20 hours per week will be spent as part of the pediatric diagnostics team, conducting a full range of pediatric audiological assessments and providing counseling to families. The audiologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize auditory performance, patient satisfaction, and provide holistic patient care.
Requirements
- Doctorate of Audiology degree.
- Must meet minimum education requirements for licensure in the state of practice.
- Must be licensed per state law as an audiologist or pending licensure to be completed by the time of hire.
- National certification in Audiology required (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, ABA Certification, or equivalent).
- Basic Life Support certification (within 60 days of hire) may be required.
- Hearing Aid Dispensing license may be required depending on practice location and applicable state laws.

- Experience working with cochlear implants is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide services for the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with hearing and balance disorders.
- Conduct candidacy evaluations for cochlear implants.
- Perform initial cochlear implant activations.
- Manage ongoing cochlear implant programming for a diverse caseload.
- Conduct a full range of pediatric audiological assessments, including behavioral audiometry (VRA, CPA), otoacoustic emissions, and auditory brainstem response testing.
- Provide counseling and recommendations to families of pediatric patients.
- Interpret complex audiological data to accurately diagnose hearing loss.
- Collaborate with otolaryngologists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, educators, pediatricians, neurologists, and geneticists.
