About The Position

As an Audiologist you will: Perform clinical Audiology services including assessments, diagnoses and treatments for eligible patients with hearing loss and balance disorders. Complete patient reports; educate patients/families; provide counseling and consultation services and present lectures. Participate in patient rounds, risk management and research activities. Provide leadership to new employees, Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology students and ENT residents.
Requirements
- Current full registration as an Audiologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret Audiology assessments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hearing loss and associated causes.
- Demonstrated ability to apply systems theory to practice in Audiology assessments and interventions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and material used in the assessment and treatment of hearing disorders.
- Basic knowledge of other health disciplines and their role in healthcare.
- Basic knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to gather relevant data and make a multi-dimensional assessment.
- Broad knowledge of research processes and methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to unexpected events, problem-solve, set priorities and deal with conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to determine and deal effectively with urgent situations, patients/families/residents.
- Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information system.
- General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
