Requirements

Doctoral degree in Audiology
Proficient in diagnostic audiology skills: audiometry, immittance testing, otoacoustic emissions testing, otoscopy
Proficient with hearing aids, hearing aid fitting, follow-up, counseling, and Real Ear measurements.
Proficient in ABR, VNG, ECoG, VEMP
Advanced computer skills with exposure to hearing aid database software such as Sycle
Excellent report writing and clinical documentation skills
Eligible for Michigan License in Audiology

Nice To Haves

experience with vHIT is a plus

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments using audiometric tests and other diagnostic tools to identify hearing and balance disorder
Consult with patients to discuss test results, explain diagnoses, and recommend appropriate treatment options.
Develop customized treatment plans based on individual patient needs, which may include hearing aids, assistive listening devices, or other therapeutic interventions.
Provide expert guidance on selecting, fitting, and adjusting hearing aids for optimal comfort and performance.
Offer counseling and support to patients and their families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, and coping mechanisms.
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Keep abreast of advancements in audiology research, technology, and best practices to continuously improve patient care.
