Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology
  • Proficient in diagnostic audiology skills: audiometry, immittance testing, otoacoustic emissions testing, otoscopy
  • Proficient with hearing aids, hearing aid fitting, follow-up, counseling, and Real Ear measurements.
  • Proficient in ABR, VNG, ECoG, VEMP
  • Advanced computer skills with exposure to hearing aid database software such as Sycle
  • Excellent report writing and clinical documentation skills
  • Eligible for Michigan License in Audiology

Nice To Haves

  • experience with vHIT is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments using audiometric tests and other diagnostic tools to identify hearing and balance disorder
  • Consult with patients to discuss test results, explain diagnoses, and recommend appropriate treatment options.
  • Develop customized treatment plans based on individual patient needs, which may include hearing aids, assistive listening devices, or other therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide expert guidance on selecting, fitting, and adjusting hearing aids for optimal comfort and performance.
  • Offer counseling and support to patients and their families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, and coping mechanisms.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in audiology research, technology, and best practices to continuously improve patient care.
