About The Position

The Audio Video Technician is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. This includes projectors, microphones, sound speakers, video screens, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, and sound and mixing boards. The technician provides technical support for events and functions, ensuring optimal operation of all AV equipment. They work closely with clients or event coordinators to fulfill specific audio and video production needs for events such as meetings, conferences, presentations, concerts, or any other types of events. Sites to be supported include all MIT entities.

Requirements

• Graduation from a high school or equivalent with course work in general office practices.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in AV installation and managing complex audio-visual systems.
• Skilled in operating AV equipment, troubleshooting and repair, system installation, technical support, and video editing and production.
• Knowledge of audio and video technologies, electronics and electrical systems, IT and networking, safety standards and regulations, and emerging technologies.
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, adapt and learn, problem-solve creatively, and manage projects.
• A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.

Nice To Haves

• InfoComm CTS Certification
• At least 2 years of supporting Video Teleconferencing (Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, Teams, etc..)
• At least 2 years of supporting electronic scoreboards (Nevco, Daktronics)
• At least 2 years of supporting Crestron Control System

Responsibilities

• Install and set up AV equipment for Operations and various events and functions, including physically mounting hardware, connecting and configuring audio and visual systems.
• Operate AV equipment during events to ensure clear and stable audio and visuals, monitoring for issues and adjusting as needed.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment, and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Provide technical support and training to users on how to operate AV equipment effectively, offering immediate assistance during events.
• Work closely with clients, event coordinators, or team members to understand their AV needs and preferences, ensuring setup and operation meet or exceed expectations.
• Manage inventory of AV equipment and supplies, keeping track of equipment condition, performing inventory checks, and recommending purchases or upgrades.
• Ensure all installations and operations comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and any issues encountered, and prepare and submit reports.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest in audio and visual technology trends, equipment, and best practices.
• Work with other departments or external vendors to coordinate AV needs for large scale or complex events, including live-streaming.
