The Audio Tools & Automation Engineer will build automated test infrastructure to safeguard Apple Spatial Audio Format (ASAF) and Apple Positional Audio Codec (APAC) software deliverables. These include audio plug-ins and SDKs used in third-party professional applications, command-line tools, encoders included with Apple operating systems, and applications deployed in live production environments. The engineer will design and implement automated regression suites, integrate them into continuous integration, and develop scripted validation to verify output across releases. Testing will cover individual components as well as end-to-end authoring workflows used by mixers and post-production teams. Direct use of the tools and critical listening are also essential. The role also contributes to ancillary software tools that help content creators work more efficiently. The engineer serves as a technical point of contact for teams adopting the technologies, onboarding and supporting engineers and content creators inside and outside Apple, and preparing and running demonstrations for leadership, partners, and the creative community. The work involves close collaboration with codec and format engineering, content production teams, and third-party developers integrating the tools.
