Audio Production Expert (Contract)

Cartesia•San Francisco, CA
•$45 - $60

About The Position

Cartesia is hiring an Audio Production Expert to own the technical side of voice production, from defining specifications and reviewing raw recordings through processing and final delivery. The role transforms recordings into high-quality voices and fulfills voice requests from Cartesia’s Voices team to meet the requested fidelity, timeline, and requirements. It is an internal role, working day to day with the Voice Production Lead, who owns the creative and customer side; this position owns technical production standards and helps define what good audio means at Cartesia. The expert will establish casting requirements, evaluate recordings, develop repeatable production workflows and voice specifications, and support audio needs for text-to-speech and automatic speech recognition research and data. The role is expected to understand Cartesia’s voice pipeline quickly, begin shipping voices from raw datasets under a predefined service-level agreement, and build systems and internal know-how to scale production. This is an ongoing 1099 contract opportunity, renewable by mutual agreement. The contractor controls their methods, supplies their own equipment, and is responsible for their own taxes. The role is not eligible for the benefits described in the posting. Applicants must be authorized to work in their country of residence.
