About The Position

Our client is an established real estate law firm with offices throughout California. Their Irvine office is seeking an experienced landlord-tenant attorney to join our fast-paced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling commercial and mobile home unlawful detainer evictions, potentially through trial, as well as pre-litigation residential and commercial landlord-tenant disputes on behalf of property owners and managers. We are seeking a team player with a positive attitude who can develop strong relationships with our extensive client base while providing high-quality and effective representation. Client will consider candidates with general business/civil litigation (trial) experience. The successful candidate will be required to make court appearances. This position has a billable hour goal of 1600 hours p/year.

Requirements

J.D. from an accredited law school and an active California Bar license
5+ years of civil litigation experience
General knowledge of landlord-tenant law
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills

Trial experience
Experience in the rental housing industry
Lexis/Westlaw experience
Experience with case management and/or document management systems

Responsibilities

Provide legal representation to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately
Review documents and guide clients through the eviction process
Provide legal advice through phone consultations, emails, and video conferences
Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices
Litigate unlawful detainer trials throughout Southern California courts
Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings
Represent the firm internally and externally
Complete project-based work and additional duties as needed to support the practice group
