The Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law, is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for the Real Estate, Construction, & State Authorities Section of the Commercial Transactions and Litigation Division. The mission of the Department of Law is to serve the citizens of the State of Georgia by providing legal representation of the highest quality to the agencies, officers, and employees of state government and by honorably and vigorously carrying out the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of the Attorney General. The position will serve as the attorney and legal advisor for state agencies, departments, authorities and the Governor, focusing mainly upon real estate and construction law-related issues. Duties include negotiating and drafting complex agreements, providing counsel on federal contract administration, overseeing Special Assistant Attorneys General regarding public works projects, and litigating cases. The role also involves drafting formal opinions, responding to inquiries, and attending meetings and seminars.
