Requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Previous experience with word processing software
- Licensed to practice Law in the State of Texas
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents such as contracts, agreements and other legal instruments.
- Review documents drafted by other parties to ensure they are accurate and in compliance with applicable laws.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and motions.
- Present arguments, examine and cross-examine witnesses, and advocate for clients' interests.
- Conduct thorough research on legal issues to gather relevant information and precedents.
- Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and legal opinions to support arguments and provide accurate advice to clients.
- Meet and communicate with clients to understand their legal needs, discuss case strategies, and provide updates on legal proceedings.
- Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure effective representation and address any concerns.
- Negotiate on behalf of clients to reach favorable settlements in legal disputes.
- Engage in discussions with opposing parties or their legal representatives to find mutually agreeable resolutions outside of court, when possible.
- Uphold high ethical standards and abide by professional codes of conduct.
- Maintain client confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and act in the best interests of clients.
- Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents through ongoing legal education.
