About The Position

National General, a part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking an experienced Attorney-Repped Bodily Injury Consultant for its Extended Handler Bodily Inquiry (EHBI) Casualty Unit. This role involves investigating and resolving attorney-represented bodily injury claims, confirming facts of loss for complex automobile accidents, determining coverage, liability, and damages, and negotiating settlements within assigned authority limits. The position also includes mentoring and supporting junior team members to ensure consistent, high-quality claim handling. The ideal candidate is comfortable with technology, adept at managing multiple priorities, highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and possesses effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience handling AL injury claims is highly desirable. The ideal candidate resides in the CST or EST time zone.

  • Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases
  • Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
  • Handles investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authority
  • For claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims
  • Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding other potential property damage
  • Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
