About The Position

Working under the supervision and direction of more experienced attorneys, completes legal assignments that are more difficult in nature, but usually involve limited responsibility. Work involves litigation and legal research; drafting legal documents; and interpreting laws, rules, and regulations OR prosecutes misdemeanor cases in assigned court. Manages assigned court, trains Attorney I's and monitors their performance and acts as a primary liaison with court judge. Performs case evaluation, preparation, and management; represents the state/client in pre-trial and evidentiary hearings and jury/court trials; and ensures effective communications with defense attorneys, court personnel, victims and family members, witnesses and other interested parties.

Requirements

  • Must be an attorney.
  • Ability to work under supervision and direction of more experienced attorneys.
  • Ability to complete difficult legal assignments with limited responsibility.
  • Proficiency in litigation and legal research.
  • Skill in drafting legal documents.
  • Knowledge of interpreting laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Experience in prosecuting misdemeanor cases.
  • Ability to manage assigned court.
  • Experience training and monitoring performance of Attorney I's.
  • Ability to act as a primary liaison with court judge.
  • Skills in case evaluation, preparation, and management.
  • Experience representing the state/client in pre-trial and evidentiary hearings and jury/court trials.
  • Effective communication skills with defense attorneys, court personnel, victims and family members, witnesses and other interested parties.
